Currently pursuing a degree at the University of Iowa with internationally renowned flutist, Nicole Esposito, Gregory performs as Principal Flute with the University Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, and the Symphony Band. He was also a winner of the 2019 National Flute Association Masterclass Performers Competition and 2018 NFA Collegiate Flute Choir.

Originally from Illinois, Gregory Bardwell is currently studying flute performance at the University of Iowa with internationally renowned flutist, Nicole Esposito. Previous teachers include Dr. Shelly Monier and Cassie Rosenberger.
As a dedicated orchestral and ensemble musician, Gregory performs as Principal Flutist in the University Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, and the Symphony Band. He has also performed with the Center for New Music. Gregory has taken part in the University of Iowa Chamber Residency Program under Elizabeth Oakes where he has had the opportunity to learn from chamber ensembles such as JACK Quartet, Brentano Quartet, and Cavani String Quartet among others.
For the past two summers, Gregory has performed as Principal Flutist of the Aruba Symphony Festival Academy Orchestra and also received an honorable mention in the festival’s soloist competition. Gregory has attended several other summer programs including the Iowa Flute Intensive, where he has been able to learn from eminent flutists such as Julien Beaudiment, Michel Bellavance, Marianne Gedigian, Ulla Miilmann, Kaori Fujii, and Angela Jones-Reus.
Gregory was selected as a winner of the National Flute Association Masterclass Performers Competition, where he performed at the 2019 NFA Convention in Salt Lake City. He was selected as the Principal Flutist of the NFA Collegiate Flute Choir at the 2018 NFA Convention in Orlando under the direction of Jim Walker. Additionally, Gregory was a prize winner at the University’s Iowa Center for the Arts Scholarship Competition.
