Burdette Becks (Germany)
After a shining twenty four year career in the military band system playing, singing and performing with greats like Bob Hope, Dionne Warwick Lou Rawls and Wynton Marsalis, BURDETTE BECKS continues to dazzle audiences with his flute mastery and vocal ease throughout Europe.
Burdette started young, playing and singing in the church. In his teen years he played with local soul and pop groups. His military career included performances with classical woodwind quintets, piccolo, flute and vocal solos, and show band production. Working in Berlin with the RIAS Big Band and in Belgium with the Crazy Bol Quartet, Burdette has earned the appreciation and respect of jazz great Jiggs Whigham and the incomparable Toots Thielemann.
Currently, Burdette is highly in demand playing with guitarist Roland Gebhardt's jazz fusion projects as well as Rudi Schaaf's straight ahead jazz projects, and performing with the Uwe Gehring Trio and the Soul Providers amongst other projects. He enjoys the variety that comes from lending his special touch to the endless requests for his talents that come from all over Europe.
