Artist Bio

Yanami Sakahashi

YANAMI SAKAHASHI was a prizewinner of the Albert Franz Doppler Memorial Contest while studying at the Toho Gakuen School of Music as a pupil of Soichi Minegishi. He also won first prize at the Young Artists Contest sponsored by the Japan National Broadcast Corporation. Julius Baker was also an influential teacher to Mr. Sakahashi.

Yanami Sakahashi has been a member of the Japan Shinsei Symphony Orchestra (Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra) since 1985 and additionally, he has performed as a soloist with the group. He has released two compact disc recordings featuring the works of Albert Franz Doppler.
